As we expand our reach in the forest industry, we invite you to join our team as an intern,
where you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a hands-on, fast paced environment, while gaining valuable insights into every facet of the lumber trading business. Our internship program exposes students to our industry by working within various departments of our company, while forging connections with seasoned professionals and demonstrating curiosity

At RIFP, we aim to develop and cultivate strong relationships with our interns that extend beyond the internship period. Stand out during your internship for the chance to be considered for a full-time lumber Trader Trainee role after graduation!

Responsibilities:
  • Gain hands-on experience in Operations, learning key functions across Credit, Accounts Payable, Inventory, Compliance, Invoicing, and more!
  • Work with our Transportation team to book trucks, coordinate deliveries, answer calls, and solve real-time issues.
  • Take on projects with our Controller and complete a research project to present to management at the end of the internship.
  • Shadow experienced traders on our trading floor to get an insider's look at the fast-paced world of lumber trading.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of an organization
  • Experience in competitive sports or other highly competitiveness roles is considered an asset
  • Has a strong desire to succeed and manage their own book of business one day
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced work environment is a plus
Education:
  • High School Diploma is a must. Current student in college who is at least a sophomore and on track to complete their Bachelors degree from a four-year college
