This highly regarded regional hospital is seeking an Assistant Manager Outpatient Imaging to lead a dynamic ambulatory imaging team delivering accurate, timely diagnostics across multiple modalities. The Assistant Manager Outpatient Imaging will join a not-for-profit, 250–350 bed acute-care hospital recognized for patient safety and quality excellence, with Joint Commission accreditation and ACR-accredited imaging services. The organization operates under collaborative, shared-governance principles that empower clinical leaders. Imaging platforms feature advanced MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography, and interventional suites, integrated with enterprise PACS and a leading EHR to support the Assistant Manager Outpatient Imaging in driving efficient workflows.
The Assistant Manager Outpatient Imaging reports to the Manager, Medical Imaging, with strong visibility to the Director of Imaging Services. Direct reports include Lead Technologists and Senior Technologists, with indirect oversight of technologists and support personnel across designated outpatient modalities. The Assistant Manager Outpatient Imaging partners closely with radiologists, nursing, scheduling/registrars, service engineers, IT/PACS, and revenue cycle to coordinate seamless care.
The Assistant Manager Outpatient Imaging will help guide an outpatient imaging service performing approximately 180–240 exams per day across MRI, CT, X-ray, ultrasound, and mammography in modern, patient-friendly suites. The team comprises roughly 35–50 FTEs in a professional, supportive culture that values continuous improvement and collegial collaboration with fellowship-trained radiologists. The Assistant Manager Outpatient Imaging will champion exceptional access, same-day add-ons when possible, and excellent patient experience scores.
Imaging Clinically, the Assistant Manager Outpatient Imaging advances education, competency validation, and mentoring; drives image quality assurance; leads safety and accreditation readiness; and supports program development and performance improvement. Administratively, the Assistant Manager Outpatient Imaging optimizes staffing and schedules, oversees productivity and budget targets, refines workflows, enforces policies and procedures, and nurtures strong physician and stakeholder relationships. The role also serves as a liaison among patients, families, and the care team, maintains technical proficiency, and collaborates on regulatory compliance and cross-department initiatives.
