Job Title: Building Automation Technician – Commissioning and Servicing

Location: Brookhaven, Long Island New York – One site only!

$35-$50/hr

No travel into the city required!

Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Building Automation Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and servicing Building Automation Systems to ensure optimal performance and client satisfaction. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background and excellent problem-solving abilities. Training and progression plans put in place to help with personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation: Install, configure, and program BAS components, including HVAC controls, lighting systems, and security interfaces, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
• Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and resolve issues within BAS to maintain uninterrupted operations and system efficiency.
• Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and longevity.
• System Optimization: Analyse system performance data to recommend and implement enhancements for energy efficiency and operational effectiveness.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and system configurations.
• Client Support: Provide technical support and training to clients, ensuring they are well-informed on system operations and features.
• Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within scope.
• Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to industry standards, local codes, and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in electronics, building technology, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in building automation, HVAC controls, or a related field.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in BAS programming, understanding of HVAC systems, electrical knowledge, and familiarity with networking protocols.
• Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical clients.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in building automation or HVAC systems are advantageous.
• Automated Logic experience is preferred but not essential
