Key Traits of an Ideal Class A Hazmat/Tanker Truck Driver: Dependable Efficient Organized Detail-Oriented Self-Starter Who Works Well Independently Compensation: Earn $0.60 CPM whether loaded or empty. Full-time drivers can expect to make $80,000+ annually. Bonus opportunities include: Weekly Safety Bonus: Up to $1,200 per year Driver Referral Bonus: $500 paid out over 6 months Benefits: 100% Paid Health Insurance with Prescription Card Dental, Vision, and Supplemental Plans Available 401K with Company Match at 3% Life Insurance Contribution: $20K until 60 days, $35K after 60 days Paid Bereavement and Sick Days Paid Vacation and Holidays Paid Uniforms Paid Renewals for DOT Physical Card Paid TWIC Requirements/Qualifications: Must be at least 23 years old Valid CDL Class A License 2 Years Recent, Verifiable CDL Class A Experience (Required) Tanker and HazMat Endorsements (Required) Clean Driving Record + PSP Report (Required) High School Diploma or GED (Preferred) Ability to Lift Over 40lbs Willingness to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) Must have a cell phone with active voicemail Basic understanding of mobile/electronic devices Ability to drive standard transmission truck (10, 13, or 18 speeds) Driver Responsibilities: Fully understand and safely operate your assigned vehicle. Drive vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs. Secure shipment contents to avoid damage, injury, or spills. Complete documentation and obtain signatures for deliveries. Follow efficient routes to ensure timely transport. Communicate with dispatch as needed. Verify shipment contents against manifest documents. Perform safety inspections before, during, and after each trip. Keep your vehicle clean and well-maintained. Track necessary service for your vehicle (refueling, oil changes, tire pressure, repairs, etc.). Notify management of major maintenance or delivery issues. Maintain detailed logs of driving and deliveries. Track and report working hours accurately. Obey traffic laws and adjust driving according to weather/road conditions. Comply with company policies as well as OSHA, ICC, and DOT regulations. Perform additional duties as required pertaining to the job.
