Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator with a strong background in civil construction estimating , particularly in asphalt, paving, earthwork, underground utilities, and concrete services . The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of takeoffs, cost analysis, subcontractor negotiations, and bidding procedures for public and private sector projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate cost estimates, proposals, and bid packages for civil construction projects.
• Conduct quantity takeoffs, material pricing, and subcontractor/vendor negotiations .
• Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and contracts to ensure accurate pricing and risk assessment.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers .
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting.
• Stay up to date on local market conditions, industry trends, and construction costs .
• Utilize Bluebeam, or other estimating software to streamline the estimating process.
• Assist in value engineering and cost-saving strategies for project proposals.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in estimating for civil construction projects with a focus on asphalt paving, earthwork, utilities, and concrete .
• Strong knowledge of DOT, municipal, and commercial civil construction requirements .
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar estimating software .
• Ability to analyze plans, specifications, and contract documents with attention to detail.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with subcontractors and vendors.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple bids simultaneously.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
