We’re now seeking CNAs for openings at a school in St. Louis, Missouri. Our goal is to help open a range of options for our nurses so they can choose the assignments that fit their goals and lifestyle best.

School CNA Contract Details:

• $17.50 – $19 per hour*
• 5-week contract with possibility to extend
• CNA will provide nursing care within their scope of practice and in accordance with the standards of the facility
• Will recognize and report abnormal signs and symptoms of common diseases and conditions with student(s)
• Will take and record vital signs, will report abnormal findings
• Must be sensitive to student’s emotional, social and mental health needs
• Will make observations of student’s environment to ensure the safety and comfort of the student
• Will perform basic personal care skills such as mouth care, skin care grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinence care and feeding.
• Will use assistive devices in ambulation, eating and dressing
• Must understand student’s rights and promote independence
• Must report student concerns
• Must be knowledgeable of spread of disease causing microorganisms and uses policies and procedures to prevent spread of microorganisms
• Must demonstrate the ability to identify and implement safety and emergency procedures
• Will identify and demonstrate principles of body mechanics
• Will provide messenger, escort, and transport duties as needed for student care
• Maintains confidentiality of medical and educational-related concerns in the school setting
• Collaborates with the student’s school nurse, teacher, and therapists to help provide the optimal educational experience for the student
• Demonstrates professional behavior when interacting with school staff, parents, and students.
• Self-directed and works within the scope of the job description
• Takes directives and follows through with a high level of student care
• Demonstrates effective communication with the student, supervising nurse, classroom teacher, co-workers, and others.
• Seeks assistance/guidance/information as needed
• Safely manage and operate equipment. Clean and maintain the equipment
• Follows established school department policies and procedures with regard to: attendance, work hours, and safety procedures.
• Maintains professional dress and appearance including wearing of school-issued ID and name tags
• Maintains professional, courteous, helpful attitude
• Compliance process and all costs associated with obtaining compliance documents are covered by SHC

Requirements:

• Current CNA Certification- High School Diploma or equivalent
• American Heart Association BLS
• 1 year of recent relevant nursing experience- Documentation of job-specific training/competency
