They are a leading financial institution that is growing rapidly and is seeking a Controller to spearhead the A&F team. This role can move up into the CFO seat and is seeking a candidate who comes from the banking or financial institution sector.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
• Supervise and manage all general ledger activity, financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end close process.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Liaise with our CFO and executive team on all matters concerning financial management, budgeting, and internal controls.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a similar role within the Banking or Financial Services industry.
• Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is required.
• Masters in Accounting or related field.
• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to direct and supervise.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and various accounting software.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
