Job Description

Location: Santa Clara, California (Onsite) Type: Full-Time Elevated Materials is seeking an experienced, onsite Director of Information Technology to lead our IT operations. The Director of IT will be responsible for guiding Elevated Materials’ global IT strategy, ensuring the seamless integration of ERP, CRM, HRIS and MES solutions to enhance our manufacturing processes, security posture, and operational efficiency. This role demands an innovative leader adept at managing growing IT infrastructures, managing local datacenters/racks, and leveraging Managed Service Providers (MSPs) for comprehensive network and security operations. This onsite position will work from Santa Clara, CA, while supporting our global operations throughout the US and Germany. About Elevated Materials Elevated Materials leads in battery innovation with ultra-thin lithium films. Our films enhance performance by improving energy density, cycle life, and charge rates. With decades of materials engineering expertise and a strong patent portfolio, our technology applies to graphite, silicon, and lithium metal anodes and can be customized for specific customer needs. We can help electric vehicles, eVTOL aircraft, energy storage systems, and consumer electronics achieve superior performance and longevity. Key Responsibilities IT Strategy and Vision: Develop and execute a forward-looking IT strategy that aligns with the company’s growth objectives, focusing on modernizing enterprise applications, cloud adoption, and leveraging advanced data analytics to drive operational excellence and competitive advantage. Managed Service Integration: Oversee the partnership with Managed Service Providers to ensure the delivery of full-fledged Network Operations Center (NOC) and Security Operations Center (SOC) services. This includes managing end-to-end service delivery, ensuring SLA compliance, and optimizing the cost and efficiency of managed services. Security and Compliance: Act as the key information security leader, enhancing our cybersecurity framework to protect against threats, ensuring disaster recovery and business continuity plans are robust and up to date. Implement necessary regulatory and compliance measures aligned with industry standards. Digital Transformation: Lead enterprise-wide modernization efforts, utilizing cloud technologies, automation, and innovative solutions like AI and Machine Learning to improve the scalability and efficiency of our manufacturing and operational processes. Enterprise Platforms and Automation: Drive significant technology improvements, focusing on platform scalability and efficiency. This includes the management of SaaS and custom applications, with a keen emphasis on deploying automation to enhance productivity and ROI. Infrastructure and Technology Operations: Manage a comprehensive IT operations framework, incorporating cloud infrastructure, identity and access management, and leading initiatives to drive scalability and security. Analytics, Data, and AI Governance: Implement a base analytics and BI platform with executive dashboards and a central data warehouse. This role entails standardizing data governance and spearheading AI/ML adoption on various fronts from analytics to day-to-day operations. Leadership and Team Development: Build and mentor a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, customer-focus, and alignment with business goals. This includes collaborating closely with external partners and internal stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives. Vendor and Budget Management: Negotiate with technology vendors to secure cost-effective contracts, manage the IT department budget, and ensure investments align with strategic priorities, delivering measurable business impacts. Evaluate the technology maturity of vendors and partners for effective integration and data exchange. Qualifications 10+ years of experience in IT leadership roles, preferably in manufacturing or related sectors. Proven track record of IT strategy planning, digital transformation, and managing large-scale IT operations. Strong experience with cloud technologies, cybersecurity frameworks, and enterprise application modernization. Demonstrable expertise in managing MSPs, NOC, and SOC operations. Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to drive team performance and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Strong negotiation skills and experience in vendor and budget management. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field. Ability to travel to other sites as required (approximately 5% travel time per year). Compensation & Benefits Anticipated annual salary for this role is $200,000 - $250,000 per year, based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience. The total rewards package will also include company equity and an annual discretionary bonus.
