Job Summary The Non‑CDL Driver contributes to the efficient operation of the Branch Office. The Primary duties include delivering Wismettac products to customers, performing loading/unloading of trucks, picking and loading materials, securing loads, conducting pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections, collecting payments from customers, and forwarding payments to the office department. Essential Job Functions Drive delivery trucks or vans (weight ≤ 26,000 lbs) efficiently and safely. Deliver company products over established routes or territories. Load or unload merchandise at the customer’s place of business; be able to lift and move items up to 50 lbs. Build and maintain effective relationships with customers. Represent the company positively by demonstrating safe, responsible driving practices. Drive interstate as required. Maneuver vehicles at varying speeds in heavy traffic, inclement weather, or tight loading dock areas. Perform pre‑trip, in‑route, and post‑trip inspections; report any defects immediately. Keep the vehicle interior clean and orderly. Report accidents, delays, or irregularities promptly. Submit all paperwork and documents required by Federal DOT and Wismettac on time. Collect payments and produce receipts for cash‑on‑delivery arrangements. Turn in receipts, payments, delivery records, and any mechanical problem reports. Adhere to Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Section 111 and guidelines set by Logistics Headquarters. Assist with loading trucks and arranging items for delivery. Other warehouse duties as assigned. Experience / Training / Education The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, a valid Class C driver’s license, and the ability to read, write, and speak English. 1‑2 years of delivery vehicle experience preferred. Experience using a forklift and electric pallet jack is desirable. Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Knowledge of safe driving practices, DOT regulations, and hours of service laws. Understanding of FSMA Section 111 and sanitary transportation guidelines. Physical ability to lift heavy objects over 50 lbs and perform strenuous tasks. Proficient with E‑log book computer/tablet systems. Ability to investigate accidents and maintain accurate records. Strong interpersonal skills with tact, patience, and courtesy. Solid attendance record and willingness to work extended hours, possible weekends. Ability to read and write required paperwork and reports. Desire to serve customers and support the warehouse department. Ability to read gauges, operate vehicle cab, and perform necessary motor skills. Ability to spend 80‑90% of the day sitting and driving while engaging in required motions. Other Working Conditions Drivers work long hours, including evenings and occasionally nights. The shift may start late at night or early in the morning. Drivers may be exposed to heat, cold, dust, irritants, and mechanical equipment. The typical workweek is Monday‑Friday (40 hrs), but overtime, weekend hours, and travel on nights and holidays are common.
