Location: Surry and North Anna Power Stations, Virginia (Local / Drive-in candidates highly preferred)

Project: Major Digital Modernization Initiative for Subsequent License Renewal (SLR)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Instrumentation and Control (I&C) / Electrical Test Engineer to join the team modernizing Dominion Energy’s nuclear power fleet. This 10+ year, $100M+ digital transformation project will replace legacy analog systems with advanced digital controls and convert the main control room to flat panel displays.

Local and regional candidates (commutable or drive-in distance to Surry and North Anna Power Stations) are highly preferred for this position due to site-based responsibilities and testing activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain Dominion Energy Test Engineering Qualifications to perform site-based nuclear testing activities
• Partner with application engineering teams to gain deep understanding of system functions and requirements
• Review and approve vendor-developed Software-in-Loop (SIL) and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) plans
• Develop detailed Site Acceptance Test (SAT) plans and procedures
• Create and execute Post-Installation Test Procedures to validate digital systems after installation
• Lead execution of SAT and post-installation testing through operations turnover
• Represent Dominion during vendor testing and ensure adherence to regulatory and technical requirements
• Support the installation and commissioning of new digital equipment onsite
• Perform detailed wire verifications and voltage checks using Multi-Meters
• Regularly communicate testing progress and results to project leadership and station management

Required Qualifications

• Proven hands-on testing and validation experience in a nuclear plant environment
• Direct experience developing, reviewing, and executing test plans and procedures in nuclear applications
• Familiarity with regulatory and QA frameworks including NRC requirements and 10 CFR 50 Appendix B
• Ability to work safely and effectively in an operational nuclear power plant
• Strong analytical, organizational, and technical writing skills
• Comfortable performing physical site work including wire verifications and voltage checks
• Must be able to work onsite daily — local and drive-in candidates strongly preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Ovation or Emerson hardware/control builder software
• Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
• Prior or active Nuclear Test Engineering Qualifications at an operating nuclear plant
• Experience serving in a dedicated role on large project teams

NOTE:

This role requires daily presence at the project site. Candidates residing within commuting distance or willing to drive-in daily will be given priority in the selection process.
