Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking an Engineer/Principal Engineer – Fluid Performance Simulation Analyst with experience in aircraft fluid subsystems development to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL. This position is fully onsite with no remote work available. In this role, you may be involved in multiple aspects in the development of fluid aircraft subsystems, such as analysis, verifying requirements, test data post processing and working shipside to help troubleshoot issues. These fluid aircraft subsystems include, but are not limited to, Environmental Control Systems, Liquid Cooling Systems, Hydraulic Systems, and Fuel Systems.
Key responsibilities may include:
Performing system related analysis, such as performance simulation, in support of the development of the subsystem including integration with other aircraft subsystems.
Coordinate and collaborate with relevant stakeholder to ensure robust and maintainable configurations are produced.
System level test planning, execution support, verification, data processing, and troubleshooting.
System level evaluations to verify requirements and ensure airworthiness criteria are met.
Attending internal program, customer, and/or supplier technical exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates.

This role may be filled as an Engineer (level 2) or Principal Engineer (level 3) based on the qualifications outlined below.
Basic Qualifications:
Engineer, Analyst - Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 2 years of engineering experience, OR a Master's degree in STEM
Principal Engineer, Analyst - Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline AND 5 years of engineering experience, OR Master’s degree in STEM AND 3 years of engineering experience, OR a PhD in STEM
Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
Must have at least 1 year of experience with modeling fluid systems utilizing Amesim, MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS/Fluent, Flowmaster, Easy 5, or other similar fluid simulation software with fluid network solvers.
Preferred Qualifications:
An active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with focus on thermodynamic, fluid mechanic and/or heat transfer disciplines
Experience with aircraft subsystem development, with requirements definition, specification development, component analysis, procurement, source selection, integration and test and verification for advance aircraft.
Experience performing thermodynamic, fluid mechanic and/or heat transfer analysis related to military/commercial aircraft and subsystems
Experience with the military airworthiness certification process using MIL-HDBK-516
Experience interpreting component detail drawings, specifications, installation drawings, and test procedures
Experience in supporting pursuits and proposals, including generating, reviewing, and approving technical proposals and BOEs
Demonstrated experience in leadership related to integrated product teams, including supplier and customer (internal and external) relations
