An opportunity is available for an Elementary Substitute Teacher specializing in General Education, with a focus on English Language Arts (ELA), serving students from Kindergarten through 5th grade. This part-time role is ideal for educators ready to make an immediate impact in a supportive elementary school environment. The position is based in Belvidere, IL, and is available for the current school year as a contract assignment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and effective instruction in general education classrooms, primarily focusing on ELA curriculum for K-5 students
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse student needs and learning styles
• Maintain classroom discipline and a positive learning environment
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure continuity and consistency in instruction
• Utilize provided lesson plans and resources or develop own plans as needed

Qualifications and Experience:

• Credentialed in Elementary Education with a strong foundation in General Education and ELA
• Previous experience working with elementary-aged children in a classroom setting
• Ability to manage classrooms effectively and engage young learners
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with school personnel
• Flexibility and readiness to step into varied classroom environments on short notice
