Job Location: Midway University - Midway, KY

Description Head e-Sports Coach

Midway University is seeking a full-time head coach to lead its eSports program. This is a full-time, 12-month position reporting directly to the Athletic Director.

Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Recruiting to achieve roster goals, competitive success, and academic performance in accordance with admissions procedures and scholarship requirements.
  • Organizing, scheduling, and leading daily practice sessions, game plan preparation and strategy, competitions, and off-season sessions.
  • Coordinating logistics for competitions, including but not limited to roster management, scheduling, video, marketing, and statistics.
  • Supporting academic progress, enforcing discipline and sportsmanship behavior.
  • Hiring, supervising, and evaluating assistant coach and program volunteers.
  • Budgeting, fundraising, promoting and marketing the program.
  • Adhering to Midway University and any appropriate governing body policies and procedures.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelors degree is required; a Masters degree is preferred.
  • Demonstrated coaching experience is required. Collegiate experience and recruiting experience are preferred.
  • Strong understanding of game mechanics, strategies used within the eSports community.
  • Familiarity with and working knowledge of eligibility rules, along with a strong commitment to compliance, are essential.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, in particular evenings and weekends.
  • This position will require a background and driving record check.

  • Initiative and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to respond to emergency situations promptly.
  • Commitment to the academic and life skills development of student-athletes.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships across campus.
  • Experience in recruiting student athletes and managing coaching staff.
