Job Title: Estimator (Lead and Mid-Level)

Salary: $150K - $220K (commensurate with experience)

Location: New Rochelle, NY

Employment Type: Permanent / Direct-Hire

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Estimator or Lead Estimator to join our team, responsible for preparing accurate project estimates for major infrastructure projects such as bridges, highways, railways, airports, dams, tunnels, and transit systems. In this role, you will be tasked with interpreting contract proposals, drawings, and specifications, conducting quantity take-offs for unit price and lump sum bidding schedules, and utilizing Excel for cost analysis. You will generate detailed unit price estimates, define production crews, and incorporate equipment and materials into cost software.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review contract proposals, drawings, and specifications to develop detailed project estimates.
• Perform quantity take-offs for unit price and lump sum bid schedules using Excel.
• Analyze project scopes of work and produce comprehensive cost estimates.
• Create and define production crews, including equipment and materials, in project cost software.
• Collaborate effectively with project owners, material suppliers, and subcontractors during pre-bid estimate preparation and post-bid negotiations.
• Work alongside the Heavy Civil estimating team to generate cost proposals and lead team reviews on large-scale projects.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant Heavy Civil estimating and project management experience (Lead Estimator requires 10+ years).
• At least 5 years of experience estimating heavy civil projects; 10 years or more for a Lead role.
• Proven experience estimating projects valued over $100 million.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with internal teams, owners, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Ability to work within a team environment to prepare and review cost proposals.
• Preferred experience with alternative delivery methods (e.g., design/build, CMAR).
