About the Company

Henderson operation is a major underground mining complex located west of Denver, Colorado. Operational since 1976, the mine feeds a concentrator with a 32,000-metric-ton-per-day capacity via a 15-mile conveyor system, 10 miles of which run beneath the Continental Divide. The mine and its corresponding mill are located an hour apart, between Empire and the area west of Dillon.

Job Description

We are hiring a Diagnostic Mechanic to support heavy equipment maintenance across our Henderson mine and mill operations. This role involves diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of heavy mobile equipment in a dynamic, 24/7 underground mining and milling environment.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy mobile equipment including: Haul Trucks, Dozers (rubber tire and track), Water Trucks, Loaders, and Motor Graders

• Remove and install critical systems such as engines, transmissions, differentials, torque converters, pumps, and final drives

• Conduct mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance on hydraulic, engine, and powertrain systems

• Perform welding (MIG, TIG, Stick, Carbon Arc, Plasma)

• Operate equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, and boom trucks

• Prioritize repairs and act as a decision-maker for equipment needs

• Complete work orders, inspections, and follow up on mechanical issues

• Mentor fellow mechanics and serve as fill-in supervisor when needed

Required Experience/Skills

• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical or maintenance crafts (welder, machinist, facility maintenance, etc.) or equivalent education + experience

• Must meet Line of Progression (LOP) requirements (for internal candidates)

• Completion of HEM Diagnostic Mechanic I Practical Skills Assessment

• Strong diagnostic skills with ability to troubleshoot machine systems

• Ability to read blueprints and schematics

• Effective English communication for safety and operational procedures

• Excellent decision-making and prioritization skills

Nice-to-Haves

• High School Diploma or GED

Education

• Technical or trade school education preferred

• High School diploma or GED encouraged

Pay & Benefits Summary

$29.50 - $39.50 per hour (base pay, dependent on experience)
