Job Posting: Experienced Building Materials Sales Representative Location: South West Region United States TRAVEL REQUIRED Job Type: Full-time, Focus on Commercial Contractors Salary: Competitive base commission structure (Opportunity to earn over $250k) We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Building Materials Sales Representative to join our dynamic sales team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for selling a wide range of building products and services to commercial contractors, focusing on opportunity-based sales and maintaining long-lasting, profitable relationships with customers. This is a pay-for-performance role where you will have the opportunity to earn over $250k annually based on commission. Responsibilities: Meet with customers regularly to ensure target sales are met and relationships are maintained. Recommend product and service enhancements to increase sales potential and meet customer needs. Analyze customer plans, trends, and data to optimize territory assignments and ensure effective service distribution. Stay updated on industry trends, economic indicators, and supply and demand shifts to remain competitive in the market. Establish and project sales objectives, and accurately forecast sales volumes. Collaborate with internal sales teams to contribute to overall company goals. Document and maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and vendor partnerships. Develop and execute both short- and long-term sales strategies. Consistently provide top-tier customer service and maintain professionalism, integrity, and passion in all interactions. Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of experience in MULTI-FAMILY CONSTRUCTION outside sales, specifically in building materials (lumber, roofing, drywall, steel framing, windows preferred). Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage time and client needs effectively. Exceptional customer service skills with a commitment to building lasting relationships. Solid understanding of the building materials market and the ability to recognize client needs and sell appropriate products from the catalog. Ability to develop and manage budgets. Proven success in sales, with excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. Strong problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and a proactive approach to sales opportunities. Preferred Skills and Experience: Experience working directly with commercial contractors and understanding their unique needs and requirements. A deep knowledge of building materials products, including lumber, roofing, drywall, steel framing, and windows.
