Our UPMC Chautauqua team in  Jamestown, NY is excited to consider your application for our full-time Point of Care and Quality Coordinator serving first shift, Monday - Friday between 8:00a.m. - 4:30p.m. ! In this position, you will have the opportunity to:

• Oversee day-to-day operations of Point of Care (POC) testing activities to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
\n
• Coordinate the main laboratory quality program, including data management, regulatory compliance, and incident review, to uphold high testing standards.
\n
• Develop and review policies and procedures for specimen collection, test performance, and quality control to align both POC and main laboratory operations.
\n
• Participate in the orientation, training, and competency assessment of testing personnel to ensure proficiency in POC testing.
\n
• Implement and monitor quality control procedures for POC testing, documenting corrective actions and evaluating their effectiveness to maintain test validity.
\n
• Enroll POC and main laboratory testing in required proficiency testing programs, monitoring results and initiating necessary corrective actions as needed.
\n
• Establish competency testing requirements for POC users, assessing compliance and maintaining access to testing systems based on documentation.
\n
• Maintain inventory of POC testing equipment, ensuring proper validation and coordinating service and maintenance tasks for optimal functionality.
\n
• Perform quality assurance reporting and identify process improvement opportunities, collaborating with patient care departments to enhance operations.
\n
• Support safety regulations across the main laboratory and POC areas to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with organizational policies.

Required

\n
1. B.S. degree in Biological Sciences or related field
\n
2. 3 years of clinical laboratory experience
\n
3. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
\n
4. Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office programs, and information systems
\n
