About the Role This
Principal role is on the deal team of this highly regarded mid-market PE firm located just outside
Boston, MA . The firm prefers to invest in niche manufacturing, business services, value-added distribution, business services, healthcare, and consumer & food companies.
Private Equity Firm Details: - Actively investing in Fund VI totaling $1.2B
- 11 active platforms
- Average investment $50M-$200M
- Deal team is 15 people, between both offices
- Offices in Boston and Newport Beach
Key Responsibilities The Principal will join senior investment professionals in investment sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio management functions of the firm. Specific responsibilities include:
- Financial analysis - Create financial models to analyze cash flows, investment returns, and enterprise values for new investment opportunities and existing portfolio companies
- Investment approval materials - Review prepared memos and other approval materials for the Investment Committee
- Industry research - Conduct research on market size, growth prospects, demand drivers, key competitors, etc.
- Third party diligence - Facilitate diligence activities with third-party partners (e.g., senior lenders, accountants, attorneys, IT consultants, strategy consultants)
- Portfolio management - Assist with ongoing monitoring and ad hoc strategic projects for portfolio companies
- Investor relations and fundraising - Compile financial reports and valuation estimates of current portfolio companies for current and potential investors
- Marketing - Provide support and attend industry events, conferences, trade shows, etc.
Professional Experience & Qualifications Minimum of 6 years of experience in investment banking, private equity or credit/lending, with middle-market experience a plus.

Education An undergraduate degree is required. Relevant advanced degrees are a plus.
Salary Salary is competitive, depending on experience.
