Performance Responsibilities:

• Treat all information as confidential.
• Project a positive image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff, and the public in a courteous manner.
• Ability to successfully complete training in the effective and safe operation of screening devices.
• Operate hand-held metal detectors and electronic walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers for prohibited items.
• Perform visual searches of bags, briefcases, and other carry-on items for prohibited items.
• Assess situations and Notify local Law Enforcement and/or Airline Ground Security Coordinator when necessary.
• Interact and communicate with the public, including those with limited or nonspeaking English proficiency, and individuals who may be confrontational and/or argumentative.
• Demonstrate proficiency in communicating with diverse people using the following skills and abilities:
• Must be able to sit, stand, lift, and/or bend throughout the shift (2-4 hours at a time).
• Deal courteously and communicate effectively with fellow team members.
• Report all Government tests, real weapons, injuries and other major incidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Keep supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas, maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements:

• Ability to read and write as part of the Identification verification of all passengers and the ability to communicate any changes to Ground Security Coordinator.
• Must be a minimum of 18 years or older
• Valid Driver’s License or reliable transportation to and from the job
• Pass Background Check and DOT drug screening
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Be a US citizen or permanent resident and have a valid work permit
• Physically capable of bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
