Job Description

Job Title: Quality Control Manager

Compensation: $70,000-$80,000

Schedule: Monday through Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (Some weekend availability may be required)

Location: Centerville, Utah

Status: Full-time

Our vertically integrated company is well known for its technology-driven approach, our focus on data, and perpetual innovation. WholesomeCo is committed to improving medical cannabis accessibility by putting patients' needs first and guiding them along their personal cannabis journeys. We are in search of a Quality control manager to ensure that our company's products are up to industry standards by inspecting items and overseeing the efficiency of production and manufacturing processes.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement a QMS aligned with federal GMP standards and Utah state cannabis regulations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements, including data collection, product quality, marketing & compliance labeling, inventory tracking, transportation manifests, etc.
  • Establish and enforce document control procedures to ensure SOPs remain current with operational changes.
  • Develop and implement a systematic root cause analysis process for identifying and correcting non-conforming products and process failures.
  • Collaborate with raw material suppliers and hardware manufacturers to investigate and resolve quality issues, ensuring consistency and compliance with GMP standards.
  • Collaborate with department heads to refine and improve departmental QC processes and increase accountability.
  • Implement and oversee IPQC (In-Process Quality Control) tracking to monitor and improve quality at every production stage.
  • Develop and implement internal quality assurance checks to verify lab results and improve product consistency.
  • Develop quality dashboards and reporting systems/mechanisms to provide insights into product quality trends.
  • Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Establish a quality training program to ensure employees are proficient in SOP adherence and IPQC protocols.
  • Train department heads and production teams on quality control best practices, root cause analysis, and regulatory compliance.
 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Food Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of quality control or quality assurance experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (cannabis, pharmaceuticals, food, or supplements preferred).
  • Preference for strong knowledge of GMP compliance, Utah cannabis regulations, and quality management systems.
  • Expertise in root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, CAPA).
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools to monitor quality trends and implement corrective actions.
  • Exceptional leadership, training, and communication skills to drive cross-functional collaboration.
  •   Advanced knowledge of excel and/or google sheets
  • Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to occasionally lift totes containing product weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Must pass a pre-employment/post-offer background check
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
