Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) – School-Based (High School)
Location: Lawndale, CA area
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, aligned with the school calendar
Caseload: High School Students Only
Compensation: $20–$30 per hour, based on skill set and experience
Position Overview:
We are currently hiring multiple full-time Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to support high school students in school-based settings throughout the Lawndale, CA area. These positions will work closely with students requiring behavioral support services as outlined in their IEPs, under the direction of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and school-based teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) as developed by supervising BCBAs
Provide direct 1:1 and/or small group behavioral support to high school students
Collect and record data on student behavior and skill acquisition throughout the school day
Monitor and support students during classroom activities, transitions, breaks, and non-instructional times
Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and related service providers to support students in achieving behavioral and academic goals
Assist in promoting socially appropriate behaviors and coping strategies within the school environment
Maintain accurate documentation and communicate regularly with the behavior team
Support the generalization of learned skills across different settings throughout the school day
Qualifications:
Active RBT certification (required)
High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate or bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, or related field preferred
Previous experience working with adolescents or in school-based settings strongly preferred
Strong communication, interpersonal, and data collection skills
Ability to follow behavior plans and work under the supervision of a BCBA
Comfortable working with students who present behavioral challenges, including physical behaviors
Must meet all district onboarding requirements, including background checks and TB clearance
