CSI Companies is hiring a Remote Sr. Outpatient Medical Coder (E/M, Pulmonary, and/or Endo) for one of our top healthcare clients. Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week, standard business hours
Location: Remote
Pay: $30-36/hour based on experience and additional Specialty Certs like Gen Surg, Ortho, or Anesthesia etc.

Job Summary: As a
Remote Sr. Outpatient Medical Coder , you will leverage your coding expertise to focus on high-dollar outpatient accounts within
E/M. Pulmonary, and Endo . Your primary responsibility will be maintaining accurate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT coding for these specialty diagnoses and procedures. You will ensure a consistent coding accuracy rate of 95% or higher through the careful review of clinical documentation and diagnostic results.You will also abstract data into electronic medical record systems, ensuring accurate patient dispositions and physician documentation while following
ICD-10-CM/PCS and
AMA CPT Guidelines .
Job Responsibilities: - Assign appropriate codes for specialty diagnoses, treatments, and procedures using ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT guidelines.
- Abstract relevant data from clinical documentation into electronic medical records.
- Validate patient admission orders and discharge dispositions.
- Manage coding tasks from assigned queues and finalize accounts on hold after corrections.
- Meet or exceed a coding accuracy rate of 95% and productivity standards.
- Comply with AHIMA's Standards of Ethical Coding .
- Identify and report hospital-acquired conditions (HAC).
- Collaborate with HIM and Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists to query providers for missing or unclear documentation.
- Participate in both internal and external audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Qualifications: - Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics or Health Information Management.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of specialty coding experience in any of the following specialties E/M, Pulmonary, and Endo
- Certifications:
- Active CPC or CCS certification required.
- Specialty certification in General Surgery or Orthopedics is a plus.
