Overview

Senior Manager, Animal Nutrition Research at The Farmer's Dog . The role leads veterinary clinical nutrition research, guides canine health initiatives, and builds key industry partnerships to advance fresh-food science and improve pets lives.

What Youll Do

• Drive Clinical Nutrition Research and New Product Innovation
  • Identify knowledge gaps and opportunities for innovation in veterinary clinical nutrition.
  • Develop and implement research projects that further current nutritional knowledge.
  • Create patents for novel nutrition solutions when applicable.
• Lead Clinical Nutrition Research
  • Develop evidence-based, clinical nutrition research projects to support claims, clinical indications, and benefits of our current product portfolio.
  • Conduct and oversee cutting-edge clinical nutrition research to enhance the health and well-being of pets and support company-wide initiatives.
• Develop and Maintain Partnerships
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with universities, research institutions, and private entities to maximize depth of knowledge within nutrition and related fields.
  • Facilitate multi-center collaborations to broaden the scope and impact of research initiatives.
• Communication and Documentation
  • Oversee the documentation and reporting of research findings.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication of research outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide clinical nutrition expertise company-wide
  • Prepare and distribute publications, reports, and other materials to relay study findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Publish research findings in reputable journals and present at scientific conferences when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Required DVM and/or PhD in Animal Nutrition or a closely related field.
• Experience 7+ years in the animal health, nutrition, or pet food industry.
• Proven track record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at scientific conferences.
• Demonstrated experience designing and leading research studies end-to-end, including protocol development, budgeting, and timeline management.
• Love for dogs.

We commit to building a competitive compensation package and company environment for all individuals to thrive. For this role, the anticipated base compensation range is $197,000 - $239,000 USD annually, plus equity. This range reflects NYC market data and may vary outside NYC.
