For more information about Draper, visit Job Description Summary: The Staff Accountant 2 provides financial Information to management by compiling and analyzing accounting data; preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other special reports; reconciling discrepancies; auditing documents. Prepares monthly journal entries and monthly account reconciliations. Job Description: Duties/Responsibilities

  • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other special reports.
  • Prepares and maintains detailed documentation for external auditors and internal use, as well as participates in audits with internal/external parties.
  • Performs general ledger duties.
  • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Prepares regular and ad hoc reports, performs analysis of data and provides summary information regarding relevant accounting data.
  • Manage all accounting transactions, prepare budget forecasts, process periodic closings, assisting preparing data for financial statements.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills/Abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
  • Good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills are required to effectively engage in systemic problem solving and innovative thinking in a timely, accurate, detail oriented manner.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal tact for interacting with all levels of finance personnel.
Education Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field required, Master's Degree in Accounting preferred. Experience
  • 3 - 5 years experience in accounting with a medium to large company.
  • Public accounting experience preferred
