Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervisor of Inpatient Coding to lead our coding team in ensuring the highest quality and efficiency in coding and reimbursement processes. In this fully remote position, you will oversee the management of inpatient, outpatient surgery, and outpatient coding across our facilities. You will play a crucial role in meeting established goals and compliance standards, while fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a team of coders (up to 75 FTEs) to ensure timely and compliant coding practices, adhering to CMS and OIG guidelines.
Oversee the coding and reimbursement activities for approximately 768,056 accounts annually, ensuring accuracy in ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG, and CPT coding.
Develop and implement training programs for both in-house and remote coding personnel.
Monitor performance metrics and provide guidance to meet established goals.
Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless operations and excellent service delivery.
Qualifications:

Education: Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred in Health Information Management or a related field.
Licenses & Certifications: AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification is required.
Experience: 3-5 years in coding management or a similar role, with a strong understanding of coding methodologies and health information systems.
Skills:
Excellent leadership and personnel management abilities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database management.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
