Job Summary The Trade Compliance Administrator is responsible for handling export and/or import transactions from request for quote to delivery and invoicing, with oversight and guidance from senior trade compliance personnel. Responsibilities include transaction processing, transaction due diligence, recordkeeping, tracking and troubleshooting international shipments, and coordination with business partners, freight forwarders and customs brokers, and various internal departments. May stop and hold any transaction pending review by a Trade Compliance Manager.
Salary Range: $25.00 - $35.00 DOE
Primary Responsibilities - Perform data entry in ERP and trade compliance information systems.
- Perform transaction due diligence including license screening, restricted party screening, end user statements, Know Your Counterparty files, red flags review, and anti-boycott review.
- Prepare routine license or permit applications for review and approval by a trade compliance manager.
- Place and release export holds on transactions.
- Review and validate international request for quote, purchase orders and sales orders.
- Prepare and verify export shipping documentation including consignee information, INCOTERMS, harmonized tariff code and nomenclature, country of origin, customs value, export classification, and license data.
- Process and validate routine import shipping documentation.
- Troubleshoot, track and trace domestic and international shipments.
- Coordinate shipments with freight forwarders and customs brokers, and with customers or suppliers.
- Coordinate with affected internal departments including Sales, Contracts, Purchasing, Logistics, Returns, and Production Control.
- Scan and store trade compliance records.
- Perform other related duties as directed.
- Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.
- Understand and live by Esterline's ethics and business conduct policies.
Qualifications - Strong computer skills including ability to transact orders in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) information systems, perform spreadsheet calculations, and quickly learn new software tools.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to prepare business letters and complete forms.
- Ability to prepare and review international business documents such as commercial invoice, packing list, air waybill, and export license.
- Ability to review and process routine purchase order/sales order terms and conditions.
- Ability to learn and comply with a complex regulatory environment including compliance with customs entry, export declaration, military and dual-use licensing, sanctions and arms embargo compliance, and anti-boycott compliance.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements - Associate's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) information systems to perform business transactions.
- Experience with export and/or import regulatory compliance.
- Experience with international business transactions and shipping documents.
- Experience with trade compliance information systems.
- Bilingual or multilingual, including English language
