American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN with Level I trauma experience and an active MI RN license for a busy emergency department.

\n \n Responsibilities\n
  • Work in a Level I Trauma Emergency Department setting
  • Handles adult and pediatric emergency cases as part of a Stroke and Heart Center
  • High patient ratios ranging from 1:5-6, with potential to reach up to 8 during busy periods and holidays
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours per week, 19:00 to 07:30
  • Works three weekends (Friday-Sunday) per four-week schedule, with varying weekend day assignments
  • Floating may be required, including to pediatric areas
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Uses Epic EMR; experience preferred but training provided during orientation
  • Locals and travelers are accepted at the same pay rate
  • Main responsibilities include triage, continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and emergency patient management
  • Must be willing to work two out of three major holidays per contract; only one holiday off may be requested
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application and may not exceed five days
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Returning staff must have a one-year separation before rehire
  • Pre-assignment unit modules are mandatory and must be completed prior to start
  • High-acuity team environment supporting both adult and pediatric emergent care

  • Active Michigan RN license required by start date (compact not accepted)
  • Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NIHSS
  • Minimum 1.5 years of ER nursing experience with Level I trauma experience required; 2 years preferred
  • Experience in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
  • Ability to provide proof of high school level education
  • Epic charting experience preferred
