\n\nJob Details:
\n• Work 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts with rotating schedules (won't rotate within 4-week schedule but must be able to work either day or night shifts during contract)
\n• 36 guaranteed hours per week with facility allowed 3 call-offs throughout 13-week assignment
\n• Patient ratio of 1:2 across all shifts
\n• 1.5 years of PICU experience required (experience must be recent within last 2 years)
\n• Level I Trauma experience required with strong trauma skills
\n• Weekend requirements: 4 weekend shifts per schedule for day shift, 4-5 for night shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights considered weekends)
\n• Float to NICU required; may serve as resource in Pediatric ED for IVs and medication assistance
\n• Required certifications: BLS, PALS, New Mexico nursing license
\n• Special procedures experience required: CRRT & ECMO procedures, ventilators, inotropic drips
\n• Care for patients with respiratory distress/failure, renal failure, trauma, ECMO, heme/oncology, multi-system organ failure, and suicide attempts
\n• 36-hour orientation provided
\n• Self-scheduling with no on-call requirements
\n• Black scrubs required (not provided)
\n• Cerner charting system
\n• No locals within 75-mile radius accepted
\n• First-time travelers accepted
\n• No RQI certifications accepted

\nThis Level I Trauma Center and Children's Hospital operates as a teaching facility providing comprehensive acute care services. The facility features 554 staffed beds with a 20-bed PICU unit maintaining a daily census of approximately 15 patients. The hospital offers extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary services. As a Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, the facility maintains high standards for patient care and requires strict compliance protocols for all healthcare professionals.
