Job Description:
This role is centered around Additive Manufacturing (3D printing), focusing on the development and optimization of 3D printing processes and products using specific technologies. Heres a detailed breakdown of the key aspects of the role:
Key Responsibilities
- Additive Manufacturing Expertise :
- Utilize a Titan 3D printer and have a solid foundation in additive manufacturing techniques to create high-quality 3D printed parts.
- Ensure that the designs are optimized for 3D printing by creating efficient STL files , which are the standard file format used for 3D printing.
- Process Development :
- Develop and refine 3D printing processes that are ready for manufacturing, focusing on scalability and production efficiency.
- Create new products using a range of materials, including composites, textiles, coatings, foams, and other additive manufacturing technologies.
- Product Testing :
- Conduct tests on newly developed products and raw materials to evaluate performance and reliability.
- Document processing conditions, test results, and any other critical-to-quality data to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards and regulations.
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) :
- Develop best practice Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) to guide additive manufacturing processes and ensure consistency in production.
- Build Optimization :
- Generate optimized build files that allow for the production of high-quality parts in minimal time while maximizing consistency across batches.
- Monitor the 3D printing builds on a variable schedule to ensure that they are completed successfully and meet quality standards.
- Material Research :
- Research new 3D printable materials to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in product design.
- Integrate new materials into existing manufacturing processes to enhance the capabilities of the production line.
- Miscellaneous Duties :
- Be adaptable and ready to take on other related tasks as assigned by management, contributing to the overall goals of the manufacturing team.
Key Requirements
- Experience :
- A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Additive Manufacturing , specifically with the Titan 3D printer or similar technologies.
- Technical Skills :
- Proficient in creating and optimizing STL files for 3D printing.
- Familiar with various materials used in additive manufacturing, including composites and textiles.
- Testing and Documentation :
- Strong capability in conducting product testing and documenting findings, including processing conditions and critical data for quality assurance.
- Process Development :
- Ability to develop and document SOPs and WIs to standardize manufacturing processes and improve efficiency.
- Problem-Solving :
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues that may arise during the printing process and product testing.
