Job Description

Our client is looking for an APM/Estimator who can be responsible for the accurate estimation of the roofing & siding cladding materials needed in residential, commercial, multi-family projects

Duties in this role:

• Responsible for preparing accurate, timely, and competitive cost estimates that support profitable project acquisition and company revenue goals
• Prepare estimates in alignment with bid schedules provided by the Lead Estimator.
• Exhibit proficiency in industry-standard software tools, including AutoDesk, PlanSwift, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills, including effective reading and writing abilities for emails, letters, and proposal documents.
• Act as the primary point of contact with clients during the bid process—inform them of your intent to bid, ask relevant questions, and submit RFIs as needed to ensure a complete and accurate estimate.
• Thoroughly review project plans and specifications prior to bid submission to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Develop detailed, well-written proposals tailored to each project. Include clear scopes of work, specific inclusions and exclusions, and standard terms, with enough precision to serve as a foundational reference for project execution.
• Follow up with clients post-bid submission to gather feedback, address questions, and actively work toward closing deals.
• Keep all bid data current in the company’s CRM and project pipeline software, including schedule updates, pricing feedback, contact records, and lead qualification indicators.
• Prioritize meeting bid deadlines, understanding that extended hours may occasionally be required to ensure timely and accurate submissions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline highly preferred
• 2+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction and/or multi-family construction required.
• Proficiency using Planswift or Autodesk a MUST
• Able to read and understand blueprints, interpret building codes, and learn estimating software
• Ability to manage several activities/projects at once, to organize and prioritize work, to meet deadlines, and work under little supervision
