**Freight Forwarder Import Transportation Coordinator**

Flat Worlds International division is seeking a Freight Forwarder Import Coordinator to join its growing team in Elk Grove Village, IL. The ideal candidate is an excellent self-starter who will be responsible for creating and executing international air and ocean shipment bookings and resolving issues that mitigate the impact to our clients. The goal of our team is to ensure operations are carried out productively so-as-to ensure profitability and sustainable growth.
* Effectively schedule bookings for international shipments and assist customers and vendors with questions, concerns, request, tracking and tracing.
* Maintain profiles for existing customers and/or create new profiles in company database including rates and services sold, delivery information, special instructions for classification / OGA and any other requirements pertaining to the individual customer.
* Provide customers with shipping information, inbound/outbound transaction and inventory status.
* Receive, process, and file documents from the customer, shipper, or overseas agents.
* Obtain required information pertinent to processing/filing customs entry, and review for accuracy.
* Process customer invoicing and assist with receivables of assigned accounts as necessary.
* Maintain relationships with partners/vendors/suppliers.
* Follow client(s) SOPs with excellence.
* Process bonds and maintain POAs for new clients.
* Provide back-up for other members of the Import Team.
* Complete other tasks and projects as assigned with excellence.

**Essential Functions**
**Qualifications / Skills / Experience**
* Proven experience in an Import Operations or relevant role.
* One or more years of operational knowledge of Cargo Wise platform experience, a plus.
* Familiarity with company policies and legal guidelines of the field.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Entry writing knowledge.
* Outstanding organizational skills.
* Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
* Knowledge of MS Office products.
* High school diploma; BS/BA in management or relevant discipline a plus.
