In-House Corporate Paralegal for asset management company with philanthropic focus.
Seeking a Paralegal with a corporate law firm or asset management background, who possesses a formidable set of professional skills and can be trained to handle a diverse array of assignments. The ideal Paralegal is a team player who can work independently, is eager for a new challenge, enjoys a variety of work and can handle working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. In addition to outstanding research and writing skills, the ideal candidate has a positive and collaborative attitude, a strong work ethic and the ability to adapt quickly to new situations, while remaining poised under pressure.
Duties and Responsibilities :
· Draft, revise, proofread, save and distribute drafts of documents
· Coordinate the internal review, revision and finalization of board governance materials and track board-related disclosures
· Prepare investment documents and investment-related forms, such as subscription documents and non-disclosure agreements
· Collaborate with legal team and colleagues to gather, organize and analyze data
· Obtain certificates of good standing, file formation documents, respond to AML/KYC requests, prepare self-certification forms, and liaise with external stakeholders
· Prepare legal documents for execution
· Maintain in-house document management system
· Proactively monitor ongoing projects, track follow-up items and ensure completion
· Perform ad hoc operational tasks to support the Legal Department
Skills & Educational Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree required
· A minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in a fast-paced corporate law firm or asset management environment
· Excellent organizational, problem-solving and time management skills, as well as attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to effectively manage/ coordinate simultaneous projects and successfully prioritize multiple tasks
· Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
· Ability and desire to build and maintain strong relationships with internal team and external contacts
· Resourceful, motivated, efficient, proactive and client-service oriented
· Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with SharePoint and Workshare Compare
· Notary certification a plus
