The School of Music at the University of Alabama invites applications for a full-time, renewable contract instructor and undergraduate advisor. This position is a non-tenure-earning, renewable, 3-year appointment.

The School of Music at the University of Alabama invites applications for a full-time, renewable contract instructor and undergraduate advisor. This position is a non-tenure-earning, renewable, 3-year appointment.

Primary duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in music theory, possibly supervising graduate teaching assistants. Secondary duties include assisting the Undergraduate Advisor in the academic advising of music majors. Anticipated course load: the equivalent of 12 credit hours per semester. (Teaching load may vary from semester to semester, with the balance filled by advising duties.)

QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in music theory; Ph.D. candidates currently working on dissertations will be considered. Successful college teaching experience is required. Advising experience is preferred.
