Japanese / English Bilingual Controls Engineer

Location: Suwanee , GA

Salary range: $85K - $90K DOE

Job Overview: The Controls Engineer will leverage expertise in control systems, automation, and instrumentation to optimize industrial processes, improve operational efficiency, ensure safety and reliability, and promote technological advancements across multiple processes. This role requires proficiency in both Japanese and English to effectively collaborate with global teams on technology strategies and alignment.

Responsibilities:

• Create control system architectures that integrate both hardware and software elements based on project specifications and requirements.
• Design and implement control algorithms, including PID controllers, state-space controllers, and advanced techniques, to optimize system performance.
• Develop, debug, and test control software, including PLC programs and HMI applications.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues within control systems, determine root causes, and apply corrective measures to ensure dependable operation.
• Remain updated on developments in control system technologies, industry trends, and best practices through self-directed study, training programs, and active involvement in professional organizations.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.

Experience:

• Required: Minimum of 3 years of experience in equipment engineering within a control engineering role.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written Japanese and English is essential.
• A combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, collaborative abilities, and a commitment to continuous learning to design and implement innovative control solutions across diverse industries and applications.
• Ability to adapt to new PLC and automation systems.
• Strong project management skills, including multitasking, prioritization, and effective time management.
• Capability to diagnose and troubleshoot fundamental technical issues, providing step-by-step technical assistance.
• Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills, along with strong presentation abilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and build relationships with teammates, customers, and partners.
• Competence in communicating complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences, whether in person, over the phone, or via email.
• Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Preferred:

• Experience with Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and Yaskawa systems.
