Position: Life Coach V / Day Program DSP

Salary : $39,728 yrly

Three-Quarter time position available Arkville, New York

Responsibilities: The Life Coach V supports individuals in achieving their desired outcomes, provide training and behavioral support to all facilities.

Job Duties:

• Provide training to program participants in specialized classes, community involvement activities, socialization and interaction skills.
• Completion and updating of individual assessments in goal area, community activity, and other relevant data to promote individual success.
• Maintain a positive learning environment.
• Development of daily lesson plans for training of individuals in instructional areas.
• Actively participate in individual planning meetings.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent with two years experience working in Human Services field, or one year of experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities..
• Ability to make good decisions in a timely manner based on analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment.
• Demonstrates competencies in active listening, teaching, curriculum development, task analysis, behavior management, person centered planning and advocacy.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in or knowledge of using computer software and email applications
• Ability to lift 35 lbs.
• NYS Drivers License
• CPR & 1st Aid preferred-will train right candidate
