As a Permanent Piping Estimator, you will be a key player in our construction department, playing a crucial role in the planning and execution of various commercial construction projects. This position requires a dynamic individual who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to the ever-changing needs of the construction industry. You will be working with a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about their work and strive for excellence in every project. This is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in HVAC systems, piping estimating, and commercial construction estimation in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed estimates for HVAC, mechanical, and piping/plumbing construction projects.
2. Analyze orthographic drawings and specifications to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
3. Use advanced software tools, such as Onscreen Take-Off and Trimble Business Center, to calculate quantities and cost estimates.
4. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to gather all necessary data for accurate estimation.
5. Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
6. Present estimates and conduct cost comparison analysis to senior management and clients.
7. Monitor and track project costs, identifying any potential risks or opportunities for cost savings.
8. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, techniques, and materials to ensure our estimates are competitive and realistic.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 8 years of experience as a HVAC Estimator, Commercial Construction Estimator, or a similar role in the construction industry.
2. Proven experience in HVAC, mechanical, and/or piping/plumbing construction is required.
3. Proficiency in using estimation software such as Onscreen Take-Off, Trimble Business Center, or equivalent.
4. Excellent understanding of orthographic drawings and the ability to interpret complex construction plans and specifications.
5. Strong mathematical and analytical skills to calculate quantities and costs accurately.
6. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.
7. A proactive problem-solver with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
8. A team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
9. A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
