ResponsibilitiesThe Employee Health Nurse, in consultation with the Employee Health Medical Director, provides direct nursing care, health education, and guidance for Legacy employees. Collaborates with the Legacy Infection Control team, the Risk Management Department, the LHS Safety Program, and other departments as needed to promote a safe and healthy work environment. Collaborates with internal and external partners to design, implement, and evaluate health education and wellness outreach projects. Acts as liaison for Legacy employees who have experienced a disease exposure or injury. Responds to queries from internal customers, facilitates positive communication and efficient resolution to employee health issues. Performs on-call duties including occasional nights/weekends/holidays and responds in a timely manner. Actively participates in department projects, clinics, and outreach including occasional nights/weekends/holiday shifts.
QualificationsEducation:
As required by licensure. BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred. BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO.
Experience:
Minimum two years experience as an RN in acute or primary care setting. Experience in Employee Health, Occupational Health, Infection Control, and/or Public Health Nursing preferred.
Knowledge/Skills:
Demonstrated knowledge in Federal, State, and Local statutes and regulations affecting occupational health and safety, including Infection Control, OSHA and The Joint Commission standards.
A working knowledge in Safety and Loss Prevention, ergonomics, risks in the health care environment, and available community resources.
Familiarity with Workers Compensation, ADA, Legacy benefits and insurance plans.
Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver oral and written presentations/reports.
Demonstrated computer competency.
