Direct Hire Addiction Medicine Physician Role in Aliquippa, PennsylvaniaWe are working with a leading treatment center in Aliquippa, PA, that is seeking an experienced and compassionate Addiction Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to join their outpatient team. The ideal candidate will have experience in addiction medicine and be comfortable working with Methadone and Vivitrol. This is an outpatient role with a focus on intake evaluations, patient rounding, and dosing, as well as coordinating care with medical staff.
A background in addiction medicine is preferred, and experience with Methadone is a plus. Key Responsibilities: Conduct intakes in the morning (approximately 4-5 per day), each taking about 45 minutesOversee outpatient treatment for opioid use disorder (OTP), including Methadone and Vivitrol administrationProvide rounding and dosing services for patients throughout the day (approximately 15-minute sessions per patient)Average daily patient volume: 10-15APP supportCommunicate with medical doctors regarding any necessary medication changesPotential to work one day per month at a local correctional facility for dosingOn-call duties one day per week (typically Thursdays)Participate in collaboration with other healthcare providers to ensure holistic, patient-centered careQualifications: Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) requiredDEA certification requiredAddiction medicine experience strongly preferred, with experience in Methadone treatment highly desirableAbility to prescribe medications for opioid use disorder (including Methadone and Vivitrol)BLS certification requiredACLS, ATLS, PALS certifications are a plusCorrections experience a plus (for work at the local jail once a month)Credentialing Requirements: Credentialing timeframe: 3 weeks to 1 monthWork Schedule Options: Schedule 1: Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PMSchedule 2: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PMOn-call: 1 day per week, typically Thursdays, during working hoursCompensation: Market rates, commensurate with experienceLogistics: Location: Aliquippa, PA, close to Pittsburgh International AirportPatient Volume: 10-15 patients per dayEMR: Training providedA laptop and cell phone will be provided for documentation if neededAdditional Notes: Must be comfortable working with opioid treatment protocols, including Methadone and VivitrolExperience working in outpatient addiction medicine and with correctional facilities is a plusThe facility may outsource psychiatric care for detox patients, either via telehealth or in-personIf you are passionate about helping individuals on their path to recovery and have experience in addiction medicine, we encourage you to apply today.
