Job Overview

A Clinical Lab Scientist is needed for an acute care hospital clinical laboratory. This role supports a diverse patient population and requires experience across multiple lab disciplines, including chemistry, hematology, blood bank, microbiology, and urinalysis. Local candidates are accepted, and first-time travelers are welcome.

 

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and high-complexity laboratory testing
• Conduct specimen accessioning, preparation, processing, and analysis
• Review quality control and ensure accuracy of test results
• Perform blood bank testing including crossmatching and antibody screening
• Conduct hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and urinalysis testing
• Identify organisms and perform culture setup and interpretation
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality assurance, and infection control standards
• Accurately report and document test results using laboratory systems

Requirements

• Active California Clinical Lab Scientist license (required at submission)
• ASCP-MLS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Clinical Lab Scientist experience
• Experience in hospital-based clinical laboratory settings
• Strong knowledge of laboratory quality control and safety procedures
